Recently, I decided to start writing more blog posts. Having been a photographer for over 12 years, I felt it was time to share my own perspective. So, let's dive in – are photographers artists? Absolutely! It's plain and simple. Photography goes beyond just taking a photo; it involves acquiring artistic skills, framing an image, and mastering the settings on your camera for complete control of light and exposure.
The moment I peer through my camera's viewfinder, I embark on building an image by considering the foreground, background, and the subject. While it may be easy to just click the button, it takes artistic ability to thoughtfully frame your shot. Moreover, there's the crucial element of light. As photographers, we must learn to select the best lighting to paint the subject in the most flattering way.
If, like me, you've ever questioned whether photography fits into the standard definition of "art," I wholeheartedly believe it does. So, you should too!
