Spring has come and gone, but for us here in the Sacramento Valley, it marked the beginning of the wedding season. Here in this area, we have two optimal seasons for weddings: spring and fall. Most people here try to skip the hot summer months for outdoor weddings. I was honored to shoot this wedding in the sweet spring month of March.
This was my first time photographing at this amazing venue but I hope it’s not my last. Miles and miles of green fields were filled with flowers. Flora of all colors lined the long dirt driveway and they were a joy to see, as I made my way up to the wedding area. The ceremony backdrop was many more miles of fields, flowers, bright blue skies and even cows grazing amongst the lush grassy areas.
Cal and Johna had the perfect country wedding. They kept it simple with no bridal party. Having no bridal party left us with tons of time for portraits of them as a couple. We made it outside just before sunset. The pastel hues in the sky enhanced the amazing colors from all of the wildflowers that were scattered throughout the fields. The beauty of nature was almost as breathtaking as the love this couple emanated. After the sunset, they ended the night with fireworks that lit up the darkened sky. It was an amazing end to a day filled with the love of this couple.
